Unwrapped Disney Delights

Thoughts While Watching: Unwrapped’s Disney Delights

Hello and welcome back to my Thoughts While Watching series, where I react in real time to Disney media old and new but mostly old! This next one is oldish – and I hope you’re hungry. It’s time to dive into another “Unwrapped” episode and Disney snacks! I gave the first Disney “Unwrapped” episode, simply titled “Walt Disney World,” the TWW treatment just under a year ago. I think it’s from like 2005, which is just outdated enough to be a good time. The subsequent “Disney Delights” episode came out 5 years later, which makes it… also pretty outdated....

My 2022 Epcot Food & Wine Festival To-Eat List

The next best thing to being at Walt Disney World is fantasizing about being in Walt Disney World, and with that in mind, let’s talk about the 2022 Epcot Food & Wine Festival! Every year, without fail, I carefully assemble a post that outlines what foods I plan to eat at the festival. It is always a joyous day when Disney releases the booth menus. Do you, dear reader, find my shortlist as riveting as I do? Never mind! I’m doing it anyway because it serves as a handy cheat sheet when I’m actually in Epcot on those glorious,...

Pop Century Stole My Hair Towel & Other Lost Stuff

Question for you frequent WDW visitors: how much of your lost stuff do you think Disney has collected over the years? I ask because back in January, Pop Century Mousekeeping STOLE my hair towel!!!! JK, I’m confident it was an honest mistake. Housekeeping is stretched really thin right now with understaffing issues, and they’re working quickly. My hair towel was white, and while I kept it out of the bathroom, they were probably just grabbing everything without inspection. I filed a missing item report and emailed Disney but no one ever got back to me. 🙁 Oh well; it...

C’mon, Tron: Lightcycle Run, What’s Taking So Long? Well, Pat Can Explain

Listen, I don’t force Walt Disney World on people. But when you’re around me a lot, well… let’s just say Pat has now been to WDW 3 times since we met and subscribes to the WDW subreddit. Which leads us, believe or not, to the theme of today’s blog post: why is it taking so long for Disney to build the new roller coaster Tron: Lightcycle / Run in Orlando when it’s ostensibly just a copy of an already existent ride in Hong Kong Disneyland? (Image above is direct from Disney and was found here. It details progress from...

Thoughts While Watching: The Grand Opening Of Walt Disney World TV Special

Heavens to Betsy, I haven’t added to my Thoughts While Watching series since the beginning of February! Which is understandable – late February through early April were packed with races and WDW trips. The bad news: I’m back. The good news: I’m back! Time for some quality filler between-Disney-trips blogging with a new Thoughts While Watching entry. Lest you forget, in these posts I watch old Disney parks media and document my thoughts in real time. Yes, laughing at my jokes counts as charity work. So grab a snack and a drink and maybe a sleeping bag, kids, because...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 4/4

Trip report time! I’m covering my April 2022 trip for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler. Read all the posts in this report here. Onward! Hey, y’know how on the first full day I was all proud of myself for waking up early and beating the crowds? My comeuppance arrives here, on the last day of the trip: I should have gotten up 10 minutes earlier. By the time I costumed myself, packed the remainder of my things, stowed said things at departure bag check, and queued up for the Skyliner, I could tell I was a bit behind...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 4/3

Trip report time! I’m covering my April 2022 trip for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler. Read all the posts in this report here. Onward! The best part of any runDisney race is, of course, the race. Duh. But the second best part is without a doubt the shower and nap right afterward. Post-Tower of Terror 10 Miler I indulged in a long shower and 2 hour nap in my glorious king bed, and it was delightful. Not gonna lie, I could’ve slept longer – but I had an Oga’s Cantina reservation to make! I dragged myself out from...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 4/2

Trip report time! I’m covering my April 2022 trip for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler. Read all the posts in this report here. Onward! I’m gonna be up front with you guys: this day did NOT go as planned. But it did go, and I’ll tell you how! I got up around 6am in preparation for Early Entry rope drop at the Magic Kingdom. I showered, prepped, and rolled out to the Pop Century bus stations. Hot WDW trip tip: 10 minutes can make all the difference. Get up 10 minutes earlier than you think strictly necessary if...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 4/1

Okay, one more Walt Disney World trip report and then I promise not another one until November, okay? (Probably. Like, if something falls in my lap…) Read all the posts in this report here. We begin this tale with a crazy airplane adventure! The kind that’s on the ground, that is; no lives were lost on this journey. I was coming from North Carolina after visiting my parents partially for race purposes. We drove to MYR and I hopped on my flight to Baltimore, all without a hitch. Things looked good at BWI. My airplane to MCO arrived a...
