Thoughts While Watching: The Pre-Opening Report From Disneyland

Today I am excited to continue my Thoughts While Watching series, where I document my thoughts while watching old school Disney parks media. I thought it might be good to tackle the next batch in chronological order, so today we’re going to start with The Pre-Opening Report from Disneyland. We’ll follow it up with the opening day broadcast and ten year anniversary special, but for now, cast your mind back to when Disneyland had yet to open its gates…. It’s more fun when you watch along! The Pre-Opening Report from Disneyland can be viewed on Disney+ here if you have a subscription, or...

In Which Jenn Simply Must Dress Up For Walt Disney World

I haven’t built up to it as much as I usually do, but it’s true – I’m going to Walt Disney World in the beginning of May! It’s been a nail-biter, what with COVID and vaccines and race cancellations, but I can finally say I’m going home. And you know me, Disney Dandy that I am: I simply cannot go to WDW without blabbing to anyone and everyone about what I plan to wear. If the clothes themselves aren’t enough to grab your attention, perhaps my experimental attempt at a new photo format will interest you? Hit it! So here’s...

In Which Jenn Recaps The 2021 Wilmington Marathon

I’m gonna be up front with you guys: the Wilmington Marathon went poorly. But it went, so I’m gonna tell you about it. I’m consistent like that. It all started out okay: I woke up on time, fueled up, taped up, dressed, and made it to downtown Wilmington without incident. Weather ranged from 55 in the morning to the low 70s later in the day, which is a little chilly for me but most would call it perfect running weather. There was both a Wilmington Marathon and Half Marathon going off that morning, and due to COVID restrictions runners...

In Which Jenn Is Finally Running That Marathon TOMORROW

Hello! I have two items of exciting news: I am currently 80% vaccinated and will be receiving my final COVID booster shot on Tuesday! I am finally running my 15th marathon TOMORROW! It’s crazy to think that I haven’t run a marathon in over a year. I haven’t had that much time between marathons… ever. I ran my first marathon in 2014 and then from 2015 on I ran two to three every single year. If nothing else, there was my rock, my staple, the Walt Disney World Marathon, every year in January. But with the tragic cancellation of this year’s...

Happy Friday: The Enchanted Laboratory At Busch Gardens Williamsburg

One of the many nice things about being a big fan of Disney parks is that they give you a greater appreciation for and interest in theme parks in general. Liking more things means there are more things we like, if you know what I mean. With that in mind, follow me now on a brief journey into my childhood, a fixture of which was Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Sure, Six Flags America and Kings Dominion were closer to where I lived, but Busch Gardens was worth that extra hour’s drive. Just like Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has...

Nightmare Before Christmas What's This?

The Nightmare Before Race Day

Remember last year when Pat bought me Spaceship Earth leggings just in time for my race costume? Well, he’s done it again! Okay, yes, I haven’t had a runDisney race in… oh, dang, well over a year. No wonder I’m so depressed. But I have to believe they’re going to come back, and when they do, I need to be ready and I need to have race costumes. Here’s another one: remember my Sally the Ragdoll race costume from WDW Marathon 2020? Because Pat did NOT. (Admittedly he wasn’t there.) But he knows that I love The Nightmare Before Christmas and...
