Smee would drink the Runner's Margarita

Can You Get Electro-LIT With The Runner’s Margarita? (No.)

The Runner’s Margarita has been a long time coming. I’ve been pondering it awhile, but it was only last weekend that I finally sprang for the full bottle of tequila I required for my experiment. A classic margarita, made from scratch, is very simple. You only really NEED three ingredients: tequila, lime juice, and an orange liqueur like triple sec or Grand Marnier. I make a pretty decent margarita and paloma if I do say so myself. Of course the problem with margaritas is that they contain alcohol(!), which is dehydrating, not to mention a bit sugary depending on...

Thoughts While Watching: The 1993 Walt Disney World Vacation Planning Video

I had thought for my next Thoughts While Watching entry I would look for something back in the early days of Disneyland again. But during my search I came up the 1993 Walt Disney World vacation planning video, and doesn’t that just sound fun? 1993! I mean, the fashion alone should be worth the price of admission! Do you think Eisner insisted someone perform a freestyle rap? I can only hope. Come along with me on this 45 minute journey to the perfect early nineties Disney trip. Was it really simpler back in the day? Even I’m surprised by...

Like A Flash Mob, But Running: Tales Of The Reluctant Spectator

Oh my gosh, you know what cracks me up every time? When you’re running a race in a downtown/populated area and there are people there that clearly had NO idea there was a race happening. I’ve kinda-sorta talked about this before, specifically in a runDisney context – once upon a time Elizabeth and I dashed about Walt Disney World ourselves dodging marathon and half marathon – but that was different. We were vaguely aware there were races happening, so while we were mildly inconvenienced in unexpected ways at times, it wasn’t completely out of left field. I don’t know...

A Dress Shop Triumph For The Oogie Boogie Man

Well, well, well. What have we here? The last post about my May WDW trip? Oooh, I’m really scared! (And yes, you may as well strap in for a bunch of Oogie Boogie song quotes now.) CAST CONNECTION: I CAN’T BELIEVE MY EYES! I touched on this in my trip report, but during my last Disney trip I had the honor and privilege of checking out Cast Connection. For those unfamiliar who are also not prepared to slog through one of my famously wordy trip report posts, Cast Connection is essentially a Cast Member-exclusive Disney outlet. Members of the...

Confessions Of A Former Theme Park Commando

If you had told me fifteen years ago that I would one day write a post advocating against theme park commando touring, I would’ve laughed in your face. It’s the sort of thing a commando would do. THEME PARK COMMANDO TOURING: IT IS THE WAY I was totally that girl on my first Walt Disney World trip as an adult – we must all get up at THIS time so we can get out that door by THIS time so we can be there BEFORE rope drop at which point we shall proceed in an orderly fashion to this,...

State Of The Union Address, Where By Union I Mean This Blog

Hello, humans! I hope you don’t mind if we take a brief moment to talk a bit of blog shop. Since Fairest Run Of All transitioned from Blogger to WordPress last month, there have been a LOT of changes. Some you almost certainly noticed (especially the part where it was down for a week and a half 🤪), some you probably didn’t. In either case, let me bring you up to speed. A lot of FROA ported over to the new platform without a hitch – and a lot of it didn’t. Yay! Some notable hiccups included broken links,...

Is Disney + Colourpop Only Good For The Packaging? An Investigation

This is not a review of Colourpop Disney cosmetics so much as it is, shall we say, a revue of them. I show them to you so that we might ooh and ah at their splendor. I’ll offer my thoughts, of course, but I’m a mere makeup tyro. In it for some pretty colors, fun names, and SUPER cute packaging? Let’s go! I’ve dabbled in Disney makeup before, but never to this extent. See, Colourpop offered a really great sale price over Memorial Day weekend, and I got overexcited. Behold my bounty! Ready for the super fun part? We’ve...

Mini Haul From Basin: Like Buying Shampoo In A Barrel

Are we done talking about my May WDW trip? Certainly not! For example, I promised you a detailed look at Basin in Disney Springs. I know. It’s been weighing on your mind. I get it. To make it up to you, I’ve included a photo of myself in the shower in this post. You’re welcome! WHAT’S BASIN, ANYWAY? You know the store Lush, that has handmade soaps and cosmetics? It’s kinda like that, only cheaper and minus the cosmetics. (I think. I know they do lip balms but I believe that’s it?) They have hand-cut bath soaps in fun...
