The Fairest Trip Report Of All: Lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-In, 11/10

I arguably shouldn’t even write this post. I didn’t earn it, you see – I didn’t take any pictures of the food. This is because the Sci-Fi Dine-In at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is, as anyone who has ever eaten there knows, exceptionally dark, both to simulate the outdoors at night and to better view the giant screen o’ ridiculous sci-fi trailers. Still, I probably should’ve at least attempted flash or something. Oh well. Question about the one photo I did take: when did cars with CHAIRS become a thing? BORING. So, no food photos, but I’m forging ahead anyway...

Happy Friday: Hip Hop Noel

Hi there! Jenn here. Usually our Happy Friday posts are just something cute and/or silly along the Disney vein, but during this very special time of year I wanted to share a holiday memory. Did anyone else have the Disney’s Twelve Days of Christmas sing-along tape when they were a kid? Man, I LOVED this thing. I remember having this enormous argument with my brother at the end of August over whether or not it was close enough to Christmas to watch it. I was staunchly in the yes category, whereas he insisted on no. Well, I thrust the...

In Which Jenn & Moon Are ‘Ached Some Questions

Hey, here’s something crazy – we’ve been tagged! We’ve been tagged twice! Thanks to Kellie and Kimberley for inexplicably expressing an interest in our inner workings. They’ve asked questions. We have answers! Four names that people call me, other than my real name: Moon says: Bek Sneaky Rebs Rebek (my Dad is not a creative soul) Jenn says: Jennifer (but why are you mad at me?) Hennifer Lopez Jenn-Jenn Seabiscuit Four jobs I have had:  Moon says: Photo editor College professor Cello teacher Easter Bunny (that’s right, you heard me) Jenn says:...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: Dinner at ‘Ohana, 11/09

Stretching out the trip report with restaurant reviews! You can see all the entries in this report here. Okay, onward!  ‘Ohana means family, and family means nobody doesn’t get a Lapu Lapu. Our second ADR of the trip was for an early dinner at ‘Ohana. Katherine, Estelle, DeJanea, Erica, and I had a great table by the window overlooking, well, the construction currently muddying up the Polynesian – but ALSO of the Magic Kingdom and Cinderella’s castle, so that was nice. We got to see the sun set over the castle followed shortly by the lights turning on. The very...

The Fairest Week In Review: 12/16

JENN: Did you run at all last week? MOON: Only a little bit. Last week was very much like the week before…Did you start back up? JENN: Nope. Just did more boring elliptical. But by God THIS WEEK I am RUNNING. I know I’ve said that before but this time I MEAN IT. I’ll go slow and not too far and if things start to hurt I’ll walk. But I’ve simply GOT to try again! MOON: I’m going today. After work. Running. Going! JENN: Yay! I’m a little worried about all the races I’m running in January, but I think I...

In Which Jenn Went to Puerto Rico

Okay, so, like I said before, I spent the long weekend in Puerto Rico. In an effort to make this somewhat more related to the mission statement of the blog, I will say: I did not run in PR but I saw several OTHER people out for a run, which means that if I ever move to Puerto Rico I don’t have to give up my hobby. Also, I ate food! We like to talk about food around here. I wasn’t a huge fan of all the fried stuff – did you know that they fry a lot of...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: Breakfast at Kona Cafe, 11/08

Stretching out the trip report with restaurant reviews! You can see all the entries in this report here. Okay, onward!  Our first ADR of the trip was a gud’un – Kona Cafe with a whole bunch of awesome bloggers and blogger associates! Our group included me, Katherine, Erica, DeJanea, Nicole, Kellie and her sister, and Kimberley and her husband. Kellie was so very adamant that we begin our breakfast with Lilikoi juice that the entire table wound up ordering a round – Kellie’s sister even ordered a glass for the specific purpose of taking one sip and passing it on...

The Fairest Week In Review: 12/10

JENN: Once again, apologies for the late week in review – I just got back from Puerto Rico (more on this later). So, how’s the running thing? MOON: Well, last week wasn’t so good. I hurt my back and then had a bit of a downer week. I spent a lot of time with the cat. Are you back to running yet? JENN: Not quite. My foot is really, truly ALMOST HEALED – I can put my full weight on it and then rise on my toes and everything! But it still feels a little sore occasionally so I’m waiting until...

In Which Moon Recaps The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation 5K Run/Walk

There’s nothing like a crisp and chilly morning by the National Harbor waters to get the blood stirring in the morning… Especially when your name is Christian and you’re wearing shorts (more on this later). November 16: Friends and family gathered to show their support of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation by running or walking. I invited some of my closest friends and family to run/walk with me. I’m eternally grateful for those who were able to come and participate. All the love to Christian, Elizabeth, Amanda, Clift, and Dad. Weather is general has a reputation for being unreliable...

In Which Jenn Makes The Cheater’s Warm Leftover Salad

The cheater’s recipe I am about to impart to you may sound gross. In fact, it could BE gross, depending on the decisions you make. But if you proceed correctly, it will be a PARTY IN YOUR MOUTH. A little background: my roommate hosted a Friendsgiving celebration on Saturday, and due to a recipe that lied through its text about the number of servings, she wound up with enough stuffing for the turkey AND two full casserole dishes. And since it was hosted at our apartment, the end result was that we now have two full casserole dishes full...
