Happy Birthday

Happy Blogiversary!

JENN: It’s time to break out the confetti and festive hats, because it’s our BLOGIVERSARY! The Fairest Run of All is one year old as of yesterday! (And we would’ve posted about that yesterday but it was Week In Review day and one must adhere to the schedule at all costs, no?) Read our first post here. MOON: Wow!! No confetti, but I seriously just blew mustard all over my hand. Celebratory condiments. JENN: Go ahead, ask me. Ask me what I’m going to do next. MOON: What are you going to do next?! JENN: I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! … Like,...

The Fairest Week In Review: 7/08

JENN: How was your Fourth of July weekend? MOON: Very nice! I went up to NYC and stayed with friends. Lots of exploring the city. How was yours? JENN: Pretty good – I saw a LOT of fireworks. First on the National Mall on the fourth and then on the fifth I saw like eight shows going on at once around a river outside Baltimore. It was crazy – at any given moment there were bursts of light in CircleVision. Oh, and there was a puppy behind us at the Mall, so that made it even better! GLORIOUS MALL PUPPY...

In Which Jenn Considers Disney Movies Across Generations

My ballet teacher recently purchased a CD of piano arrangements of Disney songs that we sometimes use for class. It’s such a new recording that it includes a rendition of Frozen‘s “Let It Go.” My teacher tells me that whenever she plays this in her kindergarten-age pre-ballet class, they ALL immediately begin singing the lyrics and complain when she turns it off even though they’re done with the steps. So: I think it is safe to say that Frozen is the seminal Disney movie for current little kids. You know what I mean, right? Sure, you watched lots of...

Kuzco rain

In Which Jenn Talks About the Weather

Addendum: UNLESS YOU ARE DEAD. Last week we had a good, solid summer storm, during which I managed to fit in a good, solid Target run because I was already out post-ballet class anyway and what’s a little rain? That is today’s question: what’s a little rain? Or rather, a BIG rain, because while rain is no big deal in a car, it can become a problem when you’re trying to get a run in. And someone was. As I drove home from the store, I saw a guy jogging on the sidewalk, multitudinous raindrops be damned. Also, did...

The Fairest Week In Review: 7/01

JENN: Sooooo. Running! How is it? MOON: This week hasn’t been super exciting with scheduled workouts. Buuuut, there are some stories. JENN: Ooh, I love stories! MOON: So, there was a water tubing trip on Sunday. Long story short, we had a problem with the cars. You’re supposed to have one car at the starting point and one at the end (so you can drive yourselves back to the other car later). Well, the girls were waiting for the boys to return and we got a text that the rangers weren’t allowing anymore parking, so they had to walk to us. It was...
