Run for the Light House

In Which Elizabeth Recaps Her Third 5K

Please welcome the ever-fabulous Elizabeth, who comes to us today with her very first guest post! She ran the Annapolis Run for the Light House 5K last weekend. Here’s her take. So I’m new to this whole recap thing, and there really isn’t much to report, as I was just doing a 5K, but the Light House 5K went pretty well! I only managed to take one not-very-good picture of the starting line, because I realized that I had forgotten to charge my phone when I got there and it was almost dead, but the website has a lovely video that...

The Fairest Week In Review: 9/29

MOON: So! Tell me about your week in running. JENN: My week was okay, I guess. I ran on the treadmill, then I ran in Ocean City, then I had the National Capital 20 Miler, which kinda blew but I’ll talk more about the later this week. You? MOON: Well, I got lots of walking in? Still working a lot. Between three different jobs and then audition anxiety vicariously through my students, not much happened on the leisure side of life. JENN: But the end is in sight, I hope? MOON: Hah, I hope so? All my students made it into GT, that’s a relief! JENN: Awesome! I...

The Fairest Week In Review: 9/24

JENN: Ladies and gentlemen, Moon is rather busy this week, so I’ve instead pulled in the intrepid Elizabeth for this week’s week in review. She’s running a 5K this weekend! What happens in La Cava gets posted on the internet. SO TELL ME ABOUT THIS 5K! ELIZABETH: Well… I know you ran the Light House Half Marathon a few years ago! And I have been on a mission this year to find more things to do close to home, so this seemed like a good opportunity! It’s benefiting the local homeless shelter, which I approve of, and the route...

In Which Jenn Recaps the Annapolis Run for the Light House Half Marathon

Never mind all those zombie 5Ks that are all the rage lately – let me tell you what it’s like to run a race in a post-apocalyptic world. The key: the Annapolis Run for the Light House Half Marathon. But first, to back up: if you missed my recap of packet pickup and sneaker purchase, click here to read that. Caught up? Great. After I got my packet I drove to my very dear friend Elizabeth‘s apartment, which was a good half hour closer to the start location than my own. She was kind enough to make me french...

In Which Jenn Gets New Sneakers From Fleet Feet

The Annapolis Light House Half Marathon was last Sunday, and was so small that there was no expo, just packet pickup. This would not seem to warrant a special post, but since the pickup was at Fleet Feet I decided to get some LOOOOONG overdue sneakers while I was there. As far as I am concerned, new sneakers are very newsworthy! Because of her mother’s medical issues, Moon decided not to run, but she did want to meet me at Fleet Feet to look at sneakers. This plan suffered a small hiccup when I arrived at the designated address...

In Which Jenn Has a Busy September (Upcoming Races!)

I have quite the September lined up for myself! It was accident, really, I swear. First Scott wanted to do the Electric Run 5K. And I said, I like running! I like lights and music! I’m in! Then he was all disappointed when we missed out on the Color Run 5K. (Scott has no interest in running unless he is surrounded by heavy themeing, at which point he becomes wildly enthusiastic. I’m working on getting him into a runDisney race; he likes WDW so I’m hopeful.) When I happened to come across the Color in Motion 5K instead, I...
