Wine & Dine Half Marathon

In Which Jenn Registers For The Wine & Dine Half

Yeah baby yeah! Wait, 12:01AM start time? The time for agonizing was over. All that remained was registration. Which I did. Step one complete! Woo! And it’s a good thing I was on top of it – the race sold out in under an hour. God forbid I had a meeting or something at noon. (And I think it’s cute that they note a price increase if you register after March 31.) It’s up in the air now who will be going with me – initially it was my mother, and then Pat said he MIGHT come too, ask...

In Which Jenn Is Wining & Dining After All

So… scrap everything I said about future runDisney plans. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you know I’ve been waffling about this year’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon for a good week. Originally I was not going to do it, OBVIOUSLY. I had other plans and it would be good to save money anyway. Then early registration opened up and I was like, hmmm… But no. I really shouldn’t. And then I was like, who else is going? And people I <3 are going, but no one was like “hey we have an extra bed crash with us”...

The Fairest Week In Review: 3/04

JENN: Sooooooo how about that Disneyland Paris Half announcement? Are you in? I think you’re in! MOON: Ha, I want to say yes. We’ll have to talk logistics later, but I think if we go we should make most of our time there (I know you’ll want to be in Disneyland the whole time!). JENN: Indeed! My only reservation is I feel like the expenses for a trip to Europe would accrue at a much faster rate than when we’re going to Orlando. MOON: Ha, definitely. JENN: I almost fear that the DLP Half and the 2016 Princess Half would be an either/or proposition....

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: Wine & Dine Half Marathon Recap

It’s time for another trip report! Yay! As I have in the past, I’ll be saving our ADRs for a final food review post, but I’ve decided to sprinkle all the Food & Wine Festival stuff into the report itself. You can see all the entries in this report here. Okay, onward!  Hit it, Gene! Minus the Volkswagen connection, this should give you a pretty solid idea of what the 2014 Wine & Dine Half Marathon was like. In a word: wet. Not that we were entirely without warning. The weather forecast kept flip-flopping in the days leading up to...

The Fairest Trip Report of All: 11/08/14

It’s time for another trip report! Yay! As I have in the past, I’ll be saving our ADRs for a final food review post, but I’ve decided to sprinkle all the Food & Wine Festival stuff into the report itself. You can see all the entries in this report here. Okay, onward! I woke up much earlier than expected and, upon discovering that Estelle was headed to the Animal Kingdom for rope drop, I dressed quickly and joined her. We picked up a bus and made it to the gate just as they were letting us in – fifteen...

In Which Jenn Is Going To Walt Disney World TOMORROW

Yup, you read that right. I leave for Walt Disney World TOMORROW. Tomorrow morning! I think you all know how that makes me feel. I know it’s 100% trite to say it, but I can scarcely believe this day has finally arrived. I feel like we’ve been planning it for decades. Scores. EONS. But it’s time! It’s finally time! Time for my very first Food and Wine Festival. I’m so excited to eat some griddled Greek cheese and rejoice. Time to poke around Memento Mori and try the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for myself. (Always assuming it hasn’t burned...

The Fairest Week In Review: 11/04

JENN: Happy post Halloween, everybody! We hope you all had a fantastic holiday, full of candy and tricked out gourds. So M, did you run last week? MOON: Affirmative. Getting “ready” for a 5K. No big deal, but I’ll be running with friends and that always makes me nervous/breathe funny. JENN: Awww. You always seem to run fine with me! You wound up smoking me during the Tinker Bell Half. Of course, I was breathing funny at the time… MOON: Well, I’m used to you! 😛 JENN: Ah, love. ^_^ MOON <3 <3 <3…. 😀 Christian will be running with me and he’s pretty fast....

In Which Jenn Is Obnoxiously Cheerful About the Future

Strap in, everybody – to counter yesterday’s whine-fest, I’m now going to be overwhelmingly positive! In this particular case, I am both Ted AND Veronica. See this sticky note that lives on my work computer? This sticky note houses all the joy of the foreseeable future. The first two – the Tessy convention (5K recap here) and Outer Banks trip – are over, the latter of which bums me out to no end but that’s just a thing I do. I get unnecessarily bummed at the conclusion of trips and nostalgic over things that JUST HAPPENED and I remember...

In Which Jenn Has Crazy runDisney Dreams

I know it’s wildly common for people to have that dream, the night before a race, that they have slept through their alarm. This image also helpfully doubles as a metaphor for running itself. OH GOD NOT GOING FAST ENOUGH (source) I am WAY AHEAD OF YOU. Sure, I’ve had that dream. I’ve had it the night before the race. I’ve also had it three months before the race and sooner, and I’ve had it weirder. Take the Wine & Dine Half. That’s not until November. And yet a couple weeks ago I had my first OH GOD RUNDISNEY...

In Which Jenn Has Her Race Year Completely Planned Out

Well. Perhaps not COMPLETELY planned out. I could maybe toss a couple 5Ks in there if something interesting pops up. But here’s the major race plan skeleton. Item 1: I signed up for the Marine Corps 17.75K at Nicole‘s urging ’cause she was all THE MARINE CORPS MARATHON IS A LOTTERY THIS YEAR WE NEED THIS. See, if you finish the 17.75K, you get guaranteed entry to MCM. So I signed up – and then Nicole got shut out. Gulp. So… going this one alone. It’s on April 12, so SOON! Wish me luck. Or, as we say instead...
