The Fairest Week In Review: 3/11

Doctor Who run

JENN: First things first: I must apologize for the slow blog week previous. Things got a little hectic and I fell down on the job. But as Rafiki so wisely says: What does it matter? It’s in the past! So I soldier on.

MOON: I’m sure your adoring fans were on the edge of their seats. All is well, here you are!

JENN: Did you run at all this week?

MOON: Almost every day!

JENN: Awesome! Any particularly noteworthy incidents?

MOON: I ran with Christian twice, with Liz once! I couldn’t ask for better company (with the exception of you, of course!). It’s getting warmer. We need to schedule a run together outdoors soon.

How was running for you this week? Are your runs improving?

JENN: A LITTLE bit. I ran an experiment last week: I swapped out my shoe inserts for the regular inserts that came with my sneakers. These are less impressive but had never been used. My runs since then have improved marginally. Now as we all know, correlation does NOT necessarily imply causation – but I think I might be in need of a new pair of sneakers.

Actually, I’ve probably BEEN in need of new sneakers, but what I might be experiencing now are the effects of that need.

Dying.

MOON: Hmm, I’ve actually been alternating between old shoes and new shoes to see if I notice a huge difference. However, my results don’t carry much weight because I haven’t done any long runs (over 7 miles).

JENN: Any good music?

MOON: Nothing much to report for this past week. Althoughhhh, I do have a new running mix to try out this week.

JENN: Nice! I got the Firefly theme song stuck in my head, so I listened to that a bunch. I’m old school. Also, you can’t take the sky from me.

MOON: … You’ve lost me. But, you also know how I feel about Firefly.

JENN: Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand? No, actually. How do you feel about Firefly?

MOON: :/ That emoticon sums it up pretty well.

JENN: Haha, fair enough. I do like the theme song, though.

MOON: I actually don’t recall it very well. You know what I wish I could do while running? Read.

JENN: Yeeeeah. That doesn’t work.

MOON: I knnnnnow. šŸ™ I’ve tried so many times. Even making the text on the nook app as big as possible.

JENN: Too jolty. I can walk while reading if it’s not too fast but that’s it.

  1. Ummm…Firefly is awesome! Of course I'm a bit Joss Whedon biased (Amazon is having a Joss Whedon blowout sale FYI). And now I have the theme song stuck in my head, which makes me sad, because it makes me think of Serenity which makes me think of "I'm a leaf on the wind." My husband and I may have dressed up as Jayne and Kaylee for Halloween…I have issues.

  2. Ummm yeah! And yeah it is! I love the scary movie "concept" of it! I've actually gone to a couple of Q&A movies with Joss Whedon (Dr. Horrible & Much Ado About Nothing) and that man…I have a total geek crush on him!
