In Which Jenn Gives Her New Car A WDW Name

Once, in the very recent Holocene, I was lucky enough to be gifted a new car by my parents. They wanted something sturdier and sportier and, well, it’s a long story, but the end result is that they gave their current car to me in exchange for my old car as a trade-in. Score! It’s a weird adjustment, though – my old car was from 2006 and the new one is a 2016 model. My GOD has a lot change in the space of a single decade. This baby has two separate display screens that tell me things like...

In Which Jenn Secures All Her Belongings Inside The Ride Vehicle EVERY TIME

(Source) Say what you will about Dinoland USA, but I have an unabashed love of its flagship ride: Dinosaur. Equal parts intense and absurd, scary and silly, it’s a great example of a non-coaster, dark ride/thrill ride hybrid. After many years and many trips to the past, I can now make it all the way through the ride without shutting my eyes once (I said it was kinda scary!). My one remaining fear? That all my stuff is very carefully stowed in the pocket in front of me. Travel back with me to the much less distant past: 2009. I...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 1/07

It’s trip report time again! I love trip reports! I’m recapping my January 2017 trip to WDW for the marathon. Onward! My morning began with my dad waking me up five minutes before my alarm was even set to go off, but I can’t really complain seeing as how he was giving me a ride to the airport. (Always encourage your parents to live near the airport.) Airport portion of the story was surprisingly uneventful, given the weather patterns circling around at the time. We boarded a little late as we were waiting on the requisite number of flight...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 11/07

It’s time for another trip report! Yay! I LOVE trip reports! This time around we’re covering the 2015 Wine & Dine HalfQuarter Marathon trip. I’ll be including reviews of my Food & Wine Festival purchases within the trip report itself, but restaurant reviews will be in their own separate posts. Commentary from Elizabeth provided in red. Click here to read all the posts in this report. Onward! This day, I did something very unlike me: I let everyone sleep in. That’s so not my bag. But the day before had been somewhat stressful, we had a mid-morning breakfast ADR, and – most...

In Which Elizabeth Remembers WDW As Best She Can

JENN: Hi guys! Please welcome once again my frequent partner-in-crime Elizabeth! I wanted to bring her in because it occurred to me that it might be interesting to find out what INfrequent WDW visitors remember from their trips. As it’s been awhile since Elizabeth was there, she’s a perfect candidate. I believe the last time I dragged you down was January of 2012, correct? ELIZABETH: That sounds right. JENN: I’m curious as to what sticks in your mind. From any trip, really. Basically, free associate! ELIZABETH: Well, the most distinctive thing from the last visit was definitely Captain EO! I think we saw...

Photographic Memory: Carnotaurus? You hardly know us!

First of all, the pun in the post title is entirely Jenn’s fault. Don’t blame Moon for that. It was out of her control. Anyway – welcome to the first post in our series Photographic Memory, in which we discuss… wait for it… the memories we have attached to photos from WDW. Sometimes the photo itself might not even be that good or high in quality (see below), but if we’ve got a story about it to share it’s fair game! This particular picture is from the on-ride photo taken of your Time Rover when being attacked by the...
