The Fairest Week In Review: 6/27

Did I say this week would be more interesting than last? Shoot. I can’t deliver. Sorry. Here’s a very normal workout log:  Sunday | ran 10.25 miles outside in 1:45 Monday | walked 2.16 miles outside in 35 minutes; 55 minute ballet class Tuesday | ran 5.32 miles outside in 55 minutes Wednesday | ran 5.11 miles outside in 50 minutes Thursday | 2.16 miles outside in 35 minutes; 65 minute ballet class Ooh. It’s always so weird when I match times. *cue Twilight Zone music* *also, brb, off to watch some TZ because one of the Shatner episodes is next in queue*...

The Fairest Week In Review: 7/29

JENN: Did you run last week? MOON: I did! A bit rather slow and steady, but it happened. Did you? JENN: I did! MOON: Great success! JENN: I did one regular long run plus two shorter speed runs where I upped my top speed. My five minute sprints are now one minute each at 8, 7.5, 7, 6.5, 6mph, then five minutes at 5.5 mph, repeat. Even though that’s only a top speed increase of .5 mph, my legs were TIRED by the end. MOON: That’s awesome!  Personally, when I can get to 8 mph– even just for a little bit– I feel like I’m at...

The Fairest Week In Review: 5/19

JENN: Here’s a fun fact: the WDW Marathon is still only at 70% capacity. The Goofy Challenge is at 97% but I dunno if you wanted to do that one anyway. MOON: Ha, thanks for the update! I’m still in decision limbo. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe? JENN: Well, there’s clearly still time to think. Have you signed up for the Baltimore Marathon? MOON: Can’t quite yet. But if I can, I am. Well, when I can. JENN: Sounds awesome. How’s your training going? MOON: This past week wasn’t the best, but I still got in two runs. How was yours? JENN: I ran four times and each...

The Fairest Week In Review: 5/12

JENN: Tell me about your week in running! MOON: This week for running was a good establishment of Baseline Ability. My mileage was about 23 miles, I think? Lower than it has been of late, but I am doing 5-7 mile runs and trying to never run slower than 6.5mph. This week was a success. Last night I ran 6 miles; 4 at 7mph and 2 at 6.5mph. Speed-wise, that’s pretty good for me! When I’m pretty much dead or tired my baseline speed is usually 5.5-6mph. My goal is to slowly increase my BL speed before I add on any...

The Fairest Week In Review: 3/25

MOON: How was your weeeeeeek?! JENN: Not baaaaad. BAAAAAA! MOON: (I love typing with hyperbole!) JENN: Haha, good. How was Florida? MOON: Florida was nice, but my goodness was I reminded of the treacherous humid conditions JENN: That sounds lovely. We haven’t even broken 70 degrees here yet (fingers crossed for Thursday!). Did you get a run in? MOON: I did! We ran three times! Besides almost being run over a few times, it was a nice place to run! JENN: Haha, where were you running? MOON: Sarasota, a main drag somewhereee. JENN: So like a road? No beach? MOON: The beach a little, but I always get shoes full...

The Fairest Week In Review: 8/05

JENN: How did your training go this week? MOON: It was a good week for running! JENN: Yay! MOON: I’m looking forward to having this week go just as well 😀 JENN: Any new distances or pace records? MOON: Hahaha, no. But there’s something to be said for consistency. JENN: Absolutely! MOON: How was your week? JENN: Surprisingly decent considering I developed a mild cold by the end of it. Silly boss and her GERMS. Tuesday morning was unseasonably cool and my run was accordingly decent by outdoor standards. And on Thursday I went for a run in DC with Nicole. I was draaaaagging but she did manage...

The Fairest Week In Review: 6/17

MOON: Ooookay. Tell me about your runs! JENN: They have been relatively decent! HUGE factor: the air conditioning the gym finally kicked in. Air conditioning not on? Crazy humid, runs suck. Air conditioning on? WHEEEEEE I CAN RUN. MOON: Ha, I realized that too in the beginning of the week. Our air conditioner seems to be spotty. Sometimes on and glorious or just not at all. JENN: I’m still working outdoor runs into my schedule, but it’s hard to convince myself to get up early. Just not my bag. Unfortunately the temperatures of late have been way too high for afternoon running. Mind...
