The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 11/07

It’s time for another trip report! Yay! I LOVE trip reports! This time around we’re covering the 2015 Wine & Dine HalfQuarter Marathon trip. I’ll be including reviews of my Food & Wine Festival purchases within the trip report itself, but restaurant reviews will be in their own separate posts. Commentary from Elizabeth provided in red. Click here to read all the posts in this report. Onward! This day, I did something very unlike me: I let everyone sleep in. That’s so not my bag. But the day before had been somewhat stressful, we had a mid-morning breakfast ADR, and – most...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: Wine & Dine Half Marathon Recap

It’s time for another trip report! Yay! As I have in the past, I’ll be saving our ADRs for a final food review post, but I’ve decided to sprinkle all the Food & Wine Festival stuff into the report itself. You can see all the entries in this report here. Okay, onward!  Hit it, Gene! Minus the Volkswagen connection, this should give you a pretty solid idea of what the 2014 Wine & Dine Half Marathon was like. In a word: wet. Not that we were entirely without warning. The weather forecast kept flip-flopping in the days leading up to...

The Fairest Trip Report of All: 11/08/14

It’s time for another trip report! Yay! As I have in the past, I’ll be saving our ADRs for a final food review post, but I’ve decided to sprinkle all the Food & Wine Festival stuff into the report itself. You can see all the entries in this report here. Okay, onward! I woke up much earlier than expected and, upon discovering that Estelle was headed to the Animal Kingdom for rope drop, I dressed quickly and joined her. We picked up a bus and made it to the gate just as they were letting us in – fifteen...

The Fairest Week In Review: 5/13

MOON: How was your weekend? JENN: Crazy. I was tasked with taking care of my grandmother on Mother’s Day. I pulled up to the house to discover an ambulance in the driveway and a fire engine on the curb. Turns out she’d fallen, been incapacitated, and used her Life Alert. MOON: Oh, no! JENN: She repeatedly refused to go to the hospital, so the paramedics had her sign something to that effect, then they had ME sign something as witness that she didn’t want to go to the hospital, and then they left. But she was clearly out of it all day, and...

The Fairest Week in Review: 10/28

I have exciting news! I just got the official email from Disney: I have been invited to participate in MyMagic+ during my December trip to Walt Disney World! I’ve customized our bands – pink for my mom and yellow for me because it would be too confusing if we were both pink and there’s no purple hey why is there no purple? – and I’m very much looking forward to finding out what horrors lie in wait as part of My Disney Experience. Awww, I kid, I kid – I’ve read about some positive experiences too, so I’m prepared...

In Which Jenn Chooses Her Very Favorite Thing at WDW

It’s unthinkable. To name a favorite attraction at Walt Disney World is to name your favorite child. You’re not supposed to play favorites! It’s supposed to be an impossible choice! But I can. If asked, I can name my favorite thing at WDW. Go on, guess. Of all the rides, shows, and characters, what is my very favorite thing? I’ll give you a hint: if it had been discontinued in favor of the questionable Avatar land, it would have meant the end of true happiness as I understand it. Here, I’ll give you a bigger hint: Yes. It’s the...
