The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 4/4

Trip report time! I’m covering my April 2022 trip for the Tower of Terror 10 Miler. Read all the posts in this report here. Onward! Hey, y’know how on the first full day I was all proud of myself for waking up early and beating the crowds? My comeuppance arrives here, on the last day of the trip: I should have gotten up 10 minutes earlier. By the time I costumed myself, packed the remainder of my things, stowed said things at departure bag check, and queued up for the Skyliner, I could tell I was a bit behind...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 2/28

It’s trip report time again! Read all the posts in this trip report here. Onward! Erika had to catch a morning flight and left around 4am; I have a vague recollection of waving goodbye, but aside from that, I was essentially flying solo for the day. I popped out of bed a couple hours later, prepped for the day, threw the rest of my stuff together, and said the sad goodbye to my room. I left my bags will the checkout-specific bell services and joined what turned out to be a very long Skyliner queue. The Cast Members were...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 11/10

It’s trip report time again! Read all posts in this trip report here. And it’s another crack o’ dawn aka 7am wakeup call to start the morning! This time I was after one of those elusive Rise of the Resistance Individual Lightning Lane spots again. Which actually seem almost weirdly easy to get? I mean, I’m sure spots grow scarce the longer you wait, but it’s nothing like the crazy virtual queue days of old where milliseconds counted. That’s something anyway. I snuck in a quick shower before dragging Pat out of bed, and we headed over to the Skyliner. We stopped...

Dressing for Star Wars – Galaxy’s Edge: My Batuu-bound Outfit

A Star Wars outfit from me?! An avowed Trekkie?!?! Look, here’s the thing: when it comes to immersive theme, I am highly suggestible. For example, I am probably the only millennial alive today who thinks Harry Potter is, like, fine or whatever. Yes, I read all the books, and I can still take him or leave him. Yet I can get HYPE for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter because it’s so freaking good at creating an exciting atmosphere. I left Universal that first time with a Ravenclaw scarf. Why? Fast forward a decade or so and ya girl...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: May 4

It’s time for my favorite type of post: a trip report! I celebrated my second vaccine dose with a trip to WDW accompanied by Becky of Disney In Your Day. I will now exhaustively tell you all about it. You can read all the posts in this report here. Onward! Galaxy’s Edge time, and therefore obligatory: May the Fourth Be With You! Yes, we did it: we snagged Studios Park Passes for the most important day of the year assuming you’re a Star Wars fan. I am resolutely a Star TREK fan in favor of the Wars, but even I’m not immune to...

In Which Jenn Runs The Race Her Own Darn Self

Back in January of 2017, some brave Walt Disney World Half Marathon registrants set a precedent: when your runDisney race is cancelled, you run it anyway on your own. And so last Sunday, the woulda-been date of the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon, I set out on the streets of San Juan to run 13.1 by myself. I wore my intended race outfit, as viewed below. You see, when it comes to the Stars, I prefer to Trek. ;P I started at 5:45am, which is probably somewhere in the general area I would’ve started the race anyway, give...

In Which Jenn Backtracks Wildly For runDisney

Guys, it’s happening! I wasn’t sure it really would, but it’s officially happening! I signed up for runDisney’s Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon and Pat and I are going to WDW for a WEEK!!! ME: If you came with me, we could go for like 5 days… PAT: How about a full week? SOLD. I know what you, a longtime reader with one hell of an elephantine memory, are thinking: “Jenn, I thought you said the Star Wars half wasn’t really right for you?” Well, I did say that. But I said it in the context of a...

The Fairest Trip Report Of All: Oga’s Cantina Review

And now for the food review portion of my 2020 WDW Marathon trip. You can read all the posts in this report here. Onward! Finally, Oga’s Cantina! THIS. WAS. SO. COOL. As I have mentioned on several occasions, I 1000% prefer to Trek over Wars with my Stars. But I gotta say, even as an inveterate follower of Captains Picard and Janeway (but mostly Tom Paris), I freakin’ loved Oga’s Cantina. The very popular flagship bar in Galaxy’s Edge, Oga’s Cantina cultivates an ambiance. The bartenders, while not playing characters per se, definitely have an air of anarchy about them (think Whispering...

If so, do I have the blog post for you! Our morning began at 5am. The Fairest Trip Report Of All: 1/09

And now for my favorite kind of post – the trip report! I’ll be covering my 2020 Marathon trip. Onward! I was coming from my parents’ house in NC this year, and my dad very graciously drove me to the airport. Guys, the Wilmington airport is SO TINY. There are literally only three airlines there and you can stand in the center of the terminal and see EVERY SINGLE GATE. Like, in the ENTIRE airport. It’s bonkers. I did experience one small adventure even in this scaled-down setting – my crotch set off the TSA scanner. >D The TSA...
